Since I was 8 I have had some pretty scary heart probs. It used to be random- maybe 2-3 times/year & would wake me up in intense pain, but now 12 yrs later it happens 5-10 times/month, then goes away for a few months. My heart feels like it flutters-it’s a sharp pain then it feels like big whoosh going through a valve. It’s very sudden, no warning & takes the breath out of me. Somtimes its while sleeping, walking or sitting-happens anytime. It is painful, so I have been to the doctor many times. I was sent to two heart specialists, I had 2 EKGs, Cat-scan, x-rays, blood test, & I have been on a 48-hour heart monitor 3 times. They said I had an irregular heart beat & a murmur & they saw a dark spot in my chest in an x-ray. But they said they felt there was nothing wrong with me, so I gave up. Now my brother suddenly mentioned having the same symptoms.
We don’t smoke, healthy, I am 20 y/o and he is 24. What could this be? Should I try a different Doctor? Anyone else have this?

ive been having flutters (daily) sometimes when i play sports and sometimes when not. My heart flutters sometimes, like once a week, but recently it’s been happening more often like every hour or so five days a week. I’m 7 weeks pregnant so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it. The strange thing is this only happens with increased frequency on the job. My job isn’t stressful and even if it was, I don’t get stressed over a job. In fact, I’m not stressed at all. So it’s gotta be something else. I don’t drink soda or coffee and I haven’t had a taste for chocolate since I’ve been pregnant. My caffeine intake is not the problem. All I drink is bottled water. Maybe it’s the brand of water, Sam’s Choice, making me feel weird. I vaguely remember browsing an article about whether bottle water was safe but I think the article was focusing on reusing plastic bottles…a concept I consider to be completely nasty. i don’t even drink from the office water cooler, i know it’s riddled with germs. I’ve only been to the doctor once since I’ve been pregnant and that was the initial nurse visit. I go back for my ultrasound soon so I’ll just ask the doctor.
