Open Question: For all you wonderful people who said prayers for me I have the results?
I asked a question two weeks ago for you wonderful kind people to say prayers for me and I now have the results of those blessed efforts.
I originally asked for prayers to help me with a lump in my right breast. Little did I know your prayers would give me a wonderful answer to that and much more.
I finally got the results of my mammogram and the lump was benign!!! Praise the Lord for his mercy he bestowed upon me and I thank all of you that said prayers for me, sent good vibes my way and wished me good luck.
I also received a Christmas miracle.
Several months ago I was diagnosed with macular degeneration of the eyes. There is no cure and it causes complete blindness.
I saw my eye doctor Christmas Eve day and he did extensive tests and exams and low and behold there is no trace of the disease in my eyes. A Christmas miracle.
I’ve always believed in the power of prayer and this just confirms it.
I thank you all from the whole of my heart for all your kindness and what all of you did for me.
I praise the Lord for his mercy he bestowed upon me and I praise all of you for your kindness to me.
God Bless all of you.
Happy New Year to all. This is a blessed ending to a very special year for me.
Peace and God’s Love and Blessings to All.
Sandy
Added Details:
Yes I did thank the Lord over and over for his mercy. I thank him everyday for the food I have and everyday he creates for us and I am thankful for that day.
For those of you that do not believe I understand you have that right and I welcome your opinions. Also thank you for thinking it was good news even though you do not believe.
I just saw my regular doctor three weeks ago and my heart was fine. Thank you for the heads up on that shinigami. I see my regular doctor every 4 months.
For those that believe in God’s miracles as I do I am thankful others feel about the Lord as I do and recognize these miracles. It means a lot to me.
If some of you would of read the information more carefully you would of seen the part of the eye problem as having no cure.
Peace and Warm Wishes to All.
Sandy

Open Question: my friend’s dog is breathing kinda hard ?
the dog’s breathing is abnormal and when she felt the dog’s heart she felt it skip every few seconds so the heartbeat is abnormal as well. i the textbook definition of a heart murmur is abnormal breathing so it may be that but i don’t remember learning anything about abnormal breathing relating to a heart murmur in my high school vet science class. anyway, she says that the heartbeat skips every couple seconds and slows down as well. i know the possibilities of the heartbeat but what about the breathing? she’ll just be laying down on someone’s lap and start breathing pretty hard. at first i thought she might be dreaming but i was wrong, my friend would like all of the possibilities laid out in front of her before she takes her dog to the vet. this dog was a stray that her dad brought home by the way. please help if you can! thanks!

Open Question: What can I do to introduce fish into my diet if I don’t like the taste or texture of fish?
I have high cholesterol and a family history of heart disease. My doctor is very concerned because both my parents died of heart disease and I’ve been on statins for 10 years and now they’ve stopped working. They simply do not lower the level anymore. So I’m taking steps to lose weight (which I was already doing; I’m just stepping up my efforts by doing Tae Bo), which includes adopting a more Mediterranean-style way of eating, on doc’s orders. That includes alot of fish. I hate fish. So does my doctor, so she has no suggestions on how to do this…anyone have any ideas? And tilapia, which I can eat, doesn’t really have the nutrients I need, she’s thinking tuna and salmon (yuck).

Open Question: My Dog just Died from Heart Failure , I can’t deal with it?
My Dog Nino , a mixed chiwawa / Miniature pincher , of 9 years has pass away this past saturday 12/27 the same day we were supposed to put him to sleep, instead he died at home before we got a chance to leave for our 2:45pm appointment. He was diagnosed with heart murmur in Nov, and we were told he has heart disease and would give us medicine to treat it.
He began to get build up liquid in his stomach which made him look very fat. He started to change as we did not see the same dog anymore, always un happy, not barking and reacting the same anymore. I knew his time was coming as the disease progressed and gotten worst when the doctor told us they will give us Digoxin to help his heart beat better. Unfortunately, it made it worst, as his belly still had fluid which made him uncomfortable. On saturday 12/27 , he was already very thin , the liquid nearly left his body finally, but he looks so skinny and ill, you can see the bones on his ribs, and his face was so thin and sick looking. I would call him, he would Look my way, only stare above my head at the celling, as if he were looking t something. At this moment, while looking up, he looked so coked out or drugged up, Im not sure if he was in pain, or just fading away slower, or perhaps just in a state of unconsciousness. I told my mother we must schedule the appointment right away to put him down, as we could no longer see him like this. The appointment was made for 2:45pm.
I was in another city at around 2pm, and called my mother to tell her please wait for me, I would like to be present as well. She waited, so we missed the 2:45pm appointment. By 3pm, I was 10 min away from my mother house stuck in traffic, when she called me crying “I think nino is gone” , his heart stopped and no response. It was like a ton of bricks just fell on my stomach at that moment. Supposedly when my mother and father were watching tv, the dog was there in his small bed also, when he suddenly collapsed. They picked him up, and his heart was slowly stopping as he started to urinate on my father and let out liquid from his mouth.
When I got to the house, he was in a box wrapped in his brown blanket, still wearing his red sweater. We buried him in the backyard and made stone grave for him . I am so heart broken over this situation, I really don’t know how to deal with this pain, as Im not sure if its the death the keeps hunting me, or the fact we could of put him to sleep sooner than rather let him get thinner and Bonny, resulting in him collapsing.

Open Question: what grade would you give my paper and state reasons as to why?
the purpose of this research paper is to talk a bout a specific treatment model or approach and specify a certain populatio which i chose college students and how does the treatment help them go into a medical approach since this is a chemical dependency course for my major of forensic psychology
Running head: MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING TREATMENT ON COLLEGE BINGE DRINKING STUDENTS
Motivational Interviewing Treatment on College Binge Drinking Students
John Jay College of criminal justice
Psychology 268 - Section 01
Instructor: Prof. Gregory I. Mack, Ph.D.
December 22, 2008
College students binge drink for many reasons, which results in long-term health risks. Many college students binge drink in order to fit in with fraternity, sororities members, and/or dormitories that sometimes insists on having young college students to drink especially lots of types of alcoholic drinks. College students drink a variety of alcoholic beverages from light to heavy alcoholic beverages that increase health risks and psychological health risks such as heart diseases and brain abnormalities. Treatments such as motivational interviewing can help lessen the consumption of alcohol and allow the college students who binge drink to slowly recover from this disease they have developed of binge drinking. Means comparisons indicated that both groups showed reductions in alcohol-related problems, however, only the Motivational Interviewing sample evidenced significant reductions in binge drinking (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007). Misuse of alcohol can lead to a wide range of consequences, the most severe being alcohol abuse, dependence, and death (Devos-Comby, L. & Lange, J., 2008). The median number of drinks in a row that a college man or women must have to be called a binge drinker is 6 for a man and 5 for a woman (Wechsler, H., & Kuo, M. (2000).
Treatments such as motivational interviewing can benefit specifically college students who drink alcohol in sororities or fraternities that, binge drink. Motivational interviewing is a style of counseling that can be used throughout the therapeutic process (Jarvis, Tebbutt, Mattick & Shand, p.45). Since college students struggle with changing their habits and making a decision to change motivational drinking is a good technique in helping them with that problem. Binge drinking is a common problem that many college students are facing throughout their college lives. There are many alcoholic specific treatments that offer a wide range of help to allow those who suffer from binge drinking to be able to recovery from the alcoholic abuse. Yet, motivational interviewing can be used to begin the process of thinking about changing their ways on drinking (Jarvis, Tebbutt, Mattick & Shand, p.45). Motivational interviewing will allow oneself to make his or her own choices in deciding to stop excessive drinking patterns and set a plan to change the alcoholic behavior.
There are a couple of successful ways in which binge drinking can be helped. Findings show that more education and provision of coping skills training during treatment may influence self-efficacy by increasing the coping resources of a patient with SUD (McKellar, Ilgen & Moos, 2008).
The present findings suggest that individuals who report the greatest initial improvements in alcohol-related problems and impulsivity may have difficulty maintaining a high level of self-efficacy (McKellar, Ilgen & Moos, 2008). One brief intervention, motivational interviewing (MI) has shown efficacy in reducing alcohol-related problems in college samples (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007). When compared with MI, other interventions have also reduced student drinking, necessitating the inclusion of a control condition when evaluating
MI (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007). While participants reported feeling increased discrepancy from their peers and increased desire to reduce drinking, no behavior change emerged (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007).
Alcohol students encounter binge drinking due to a form of social entertainment with other college students. Alcohol is the main factor in which students have no control since the process to reduce alcohol consumption is a difficult process. Some types of treatments to consider for alcoholic students are detoxification. Also college students have a hard time in understanding themselves.
There are many factors that contribute to alcohol such as society, pressure, and stress. As a college student, alcohol is a way to release the negativity of life and just use alcohol as a mean to numb the pain one goes through. In order to understand what treatment is best for oneself several steps should be considered to see which treatment is best for one. Consideration of selection and socialization effects is central to understanding how substance use relates to fraternity, and sorority membership (McCabe, Schulenberg, Johnston, O’Malle

Resolved Question: heart murmur levels….?
hopefully i don’t make myself sound too stupid asking this (LOL) but i’m a little confused on the levels of heart murmurs. how many are there? every time i go to the doctor (which might be once a year-2yrs) i’m always given a different #. like, 2yrs ago they said it was a level 6, then last year it was a level 5. can they really fluctuate?? i did not see the same dr twice, so maybe it was just based on opinion?? oh, and i don’t know if this is useful info or not, but i’ve had a heart murmur since birth and was never restricted from physical activity (i ran varsity track for 5yrs and did 3yrs swimming) please, someone help me understand. thanks! : )

Open Question: Pleaaaaaaseeee critique this! i just wrote it?? “Brothers of Blood.”?
ok i’m 13 so dont expect too much of me. i dont want it to be a riddle to you, so heres the jist of the story. a sister is telling her older brother their younger brothers secret. the characters are meant to be native americans.
Brothers of Blood
He knows what makes his brother weep,
He was told of his pale sorrow.
I murmured his secrets as he lay asleep,
And his pain will be known on the morrow.
Regret shall not flood over my face,
Until his sadness is known.
He lies in a slumber, with thoughts of lace.
My brother can’t know of realities throne.
His still reaction had cooled my gut,
My heart is finally hollow.
The wound has opened, a seeping cut,
And the bare emotions he will swallow.
Brothers of the north, let it be known!
Let the earth’s rotation slow.
My brothers blood is of floor less bone,
And it is the souls breath that I owe.
hang on, its the sister telling her older brother their youngest brothers secret while their youngest brother sleeps. sorry, its so complicated. thanks for the answers!!

Open Question: My poodle has a hacking cough.. What could it be?
I have an 11 yr. old female miniature poodle. I took her to the vet after she had had this strange cough for a while. She does a hacking cough that lasts about a minute and at the end of her coughing spell, it sounds as if she is trying to throw up a hair ball, but a few times, I have seen a very bright white foam that tries to come out, but most of the time doesn’t. (It has once or twice.) She does this cough numerous times a day. When I took her to the vet, they took and x-ray and said she didn’t have a collapsed trachea and had a tad bit of an enlarged heart. They then took a look at her teeth (which do have plaque and stuff on them, so they aren’t the cleanest) and they then said the she probably had tracheitis so they gave her antibiotic, but the cough STILL hasn’t gone away. I’m very concerned. My greatest fear is that the vet was wrong and she has something very serious. I’m convinced he was wrong. What could it be? A heart murmur? Some sort of heart disease? I just need some answers! Thanks! (Sorry this was so long, I couldn’t explain it any simpler!) =]
I know what an inward sneeze and I’m 100% sure its not that. My small toy poodle does the inward sneezing, but this totally different than that. She coughs and tries to throw up a bright white very sticky foam.

Open Question: can you tell me what you think of my poem?
This anger lies within me,
Like a disease that?s in my mind,
I try to fight the urges,
But I?m running out of time,
My mouth explodes with vulgar words,
As I spit the evil truth,
I?ve hurt so many people,
My pain is the only proof,
Day by day it worsens,
As I feel my heart go numb,
I?m losing this battle with myself,
With the world beneath my aching thumb,
I try to hide my emotions,
But they all come pouring out,
I cant control my anger,
Although I am in doubt,
Normal feels so far away,
I?m sick of this lack of control,
Mind takes over body,
And now I must pay the toll,
Bipolar is such a simple word,
For what I?m feeling now,
I feel so cold and left alone,
In a mind that makes me wonder how,
If only they knew how sorry I am,
For the words I never meant,
If only I could take it back,
But for now my last apology has been spent.

Resolved Question: Worried about my Heart!?
I have Panic Disorder. My panic ATTACKS usually start like this. Iam usually sitting calmy in a lecture, falling into a sleep, when i notice my heart rate is unusually slow. My resting heart rate as I measured is about 55 or 60. I excersise 7 days a week, cardio, high impact aerobics. So anyway, I notice this slow heart beat and it freaks me out! Thinking my pace maker isnt working and My heart will stop beating now and Ill suffocate!! Thats when I force the adrenaline rush to come and speed up my heart rate, I begin to feel nauseous, panicky and derealization of my surroundings kick in! Then the wave of heat comes over and the panic attack occurs with my heart beating out of my body!.. My ECG shows that I have a minor respiratory arythmia, but it is insignificant. I had an ECG had many times and all was well. My blood level is great, so are all my hormones, and a high DHEA. So, is the ’slow heartbeat fear’ just my imagination? Im going to get heart ultrasound to see if maybe I have a mitral valve prolapse which is causing my attacks.
Now Im trying to sleep but I cant because i smoked a few cigs and my anxiety heightened, I lay down on my bed falling alseep and as soon as i drift away I get a wave of anxiety about my heart and feeling dizzy while I sleep and i wake up. I want to sleep, im tired but i cant due to waves of anxiety waking me up, and I see closed eye hallucinations and my imagination now (when i close my eyes) is scarily vivid, i see faces of real ppl right before my eyes. WHATS WRONG WITH ME?
