Open Question: How can I make my 10 month old Maltese puppy gain weight in a healthy way?
I have a 10 month old Maltese puppy named Olive. She is a very small picky eater. When I first got her at 5 weeks old I fed her soft foods. After a few weeks I weened her to Eukanuba. At first she ate it fine but then started throwing up a lot every time after she ate, the vet recommended trying different foods. I am currently feeding her “Just A Wee Bit” by Solid Gold. She loves it and eats about 1/2 a cup to a cup a day as directed on the bag for her size with no problems. I have tried feeding her canned food again but she doesn’t like it. She is relatively small for a Maltese compared to her siblings and others I have seen. She is barely at 4 pounds. She doesn’t look unhealthy but when you pet her you can feel her spine and ribs. She loves to lounge and sleep and acts more like a hamster than a dog.
Basically my question is, is there anything I can feed her that she may actually eat that will make her gain some healthy weight?
My only worry is that when she was 7 months old she was diagnosed with a heart murmur by 2 different Veterinarians. Level 4 out of 6. I don’t want to feed her anything that would make it worse and I don’t feed her any human food, the Vet directed me not to. Would the heart murmur be the cause of her small frame? I worry for my baby.
But yeah so if anyone can help me fatten Olive up that would be awesome!

Open Question: I think I may be Diabetic?
So Im up right now and was randomly watching a King of the Hill episode where the character Bill has to go to the hospital for Diabetes…and I noticed that a lot of symptoms the doctor said I have. Ive had thyroid problems, and recently went off medication because they said I was cured. But Diabetes could explain why I have ‘dizzy spells’. It’s not that I even eat a lot of sugar, I just sometimes randomly feel like I have to pass out and I’m in a cold sweat. I would save I have more of the Type 2 symptoms.
I’m also tired a lot and I dont know why, I sleep and rest most days. Also I’ve had tingling in my fingers and toes.
My grandmother had diabetes and died at the age of 84, she had her legs amputated then died shortly after that. I dont know if that could be a factor or not. But I also have a Heart Murmur.
I think I remember the doctors checking me for Diabetes a year or so ago…they always would take blood from me when I went to my Thyroid appointments, but I dont know if they checked me for Diabetes. My last appointment was around May and they told me I could get off my meds.

Resolved Question: Good nutrition for my elderly dog?
I have a German Short-haired Pointer who is turning 14 next year. He has a heart murmur, spinal degeneration and also slight cataracts in both eyes. Believe it or not, he is very active and happy. I am wondering what type of food is good for a dog of this age? He is a house dog and gets lots of love and belly scratches. I would like for him to be around another 14 years.
Ok, so most of you say a raw food diet is best in his case? I think he also needs extra glucosamine in his diet, is the raw food diet high in glucosamine?

Open Question: New song based on Repo! What do you think?
I hated the fact how they didn’t go into more detail on Graverobber’s and Blind Mag’s lives. So I’m kind of working on a fanfiction. Blind Mag has a daughter named Laurel. Before her mother’s death, Laurel went into the graverobbing business. She was determined to earn enough money to get her and her mother out of that nightmarish city. The one thing she hadn’t counted on was making the acquaintance of her mentor and falling in love with him. Laurel suffered from a heart disease that had claimed her father’s life. And when the heart disease threatened to claim Laurel, Mag begged Rotti to give her a new heart. She of course had to sign a lifetime contract. And when Rotti found out that Laurel was planning to take her mother away from Geneco, Rotti decided to have Laurel killed. Of course she survived the Repo-attack, but because of her new life she had to break up with Graverobber. This song is set sometime after the last opera in the movie:
Laurel:
After all this time? I still need you.
After all this time? I still love you.
After all this time, my heart is still yours to toy with,
Just say the word and it?s bleeding in your hand,
After all this time?
Graverobber:
After all this time? I?m still yours, babe,
After all this time? my heart trembles for your touch,
After all this time? you?re still the only one,
After all this time?
Both:
I may say that I love him/her.
And I may say that there?s no other,
But when I say that your face pops into mind,
I?m yours after all this time?
Graverobber:
After all this? my prot

Open Question: How do you take a cat and a dog back to the US?
Hi,
I have a dog and a cat. My dog is a Saluki (Arabian) and my Cat is 100% Black. Our Saluki is about 1 to 3 years old and our cat is about 3 months old. We live in Qatar and we found the Saluki in bad shape and she is now getting better so we are thinking to take her back to the US with us in June.
But it would be very kind and generous if anyone can help me with what Airlines I can take and How much would it be to take her back with us.
We live in Cleveland, Ohio. The Saluki has a Mild Heart murmur but the vet said it will be fine as a pet. That is the only health problem. Would it be okay to take her to America with us? Hope someone can help! Thanks and Appreciated!

Open Question: We’re thinking of taking on a dog….?
Hi all! I have a 7yr old white boxer bitch. The most beautiful dog I ever saw! (or am i bein biased? lol) Now, my partners parents want to us to take over ownership of their dog. He hasn’t been neutered he’s about 1 and a 1/2. Parents arent happy about the neutering thing.
I just wanna know if it would be easier to get my pup speyed? (She’s had a heart murmur since she was born, She’s already had an operation on a burst blood vessel in her ear) Also, I heard many years ago about infections in the womb of bitches? Personally I’d have him done, but as parents dont like the idea it seems like its down to my lulu! I need a decent plausible answer if they ask why? Very confused boxer baby owner!
Thx for any replies
PH
