Open Question: What is it called when a child has little holes on each lung?!! Is my cousin in danger?
A few days ago, my cousin went to hospital because she was having a hard time breathing and had a headache while she was in school. The doctors did a lot of tests and thought she had a heart murmur, but it turns out she have about 10 holes on each lung. Let’s see. She was sick a few times before and the doctor said it was caused by a virus. She also had a cold(or a flu) recently with a fever and excessive coughing. I’m really curious what she has cuz I’m so worried about my cousin!! I’ve done a little researching on the internet and it seems that she may have bronchitis. She seems to have some of the symptoms of bronchitis. Also, she is extremely skinny and her finger nails are weird-looking. It’s like round and a little bent. I don’t really know how to explain it except it looks abnormal. Can you guys tell me what my little cousin has?? Does she have bronchitis? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Open Question: Did I do the right thing?
My best friend “charlie” had a heart murmur per the vet , said their were several types in dogs. My buddy over the years had several seizures that the door bell would usually snap him out of as he started barking. Late one night I came home from work no one paying attention (partying) Charlie, led by Smokey, his younger pal slowly walked up to me and collapsed. Rushed him to vet 1am who put him on oxygen said best to put him down his heart was in poor shape but looked much better after the oxygen. Charlie slowly took his nose out of the mask touched my nose with his and then back to the mask as if he knew. Vet asked if I was ready and with no body there to help me make that decision, while holding on to Charlie he was quietly put to sleep.Have since been wondering if I had taken an oxygen bottle home with us would I have had a bit more time to think? Did I do the right thing and did the vet who had never seen Charlie before base his decision on Charlies med records alone?? was it the right decision to let him go???

Open Question: Is this a good thesis about how the artificial heart has impacted society:?
Though the goal of the first artificial heart transplant in 1969 was just to keep a cardiac patient alive until a heart transplant could be performed, it led to the effort to create a total artificial heart (TAH), gave hope to the patients dying of heart disease, and has motivated many countries around the world to join in the race to create the first perfected total artificial heart.

Resolved Question: I would like some constructive criticism on the beginning of my fantasy novel?
The night was beautiful and cloudless. A gentle whisper of a wind tugged at the curtains in Felicity?s bedroom, beckoning her outside. Still in her wrinkly blue chemise with the lace sleeves, she looked like a ghost. Her soft chestnut hair tied in braids, her skinny legs clad in stockings? it was not an outfit suitable to be outdoors in. Nonetheless, she felt an urgent need to leave the imprisonment her bedchamber provided.
Slipping on a pair of ratty black boots and not bothering to tie the laces, the young woman stepped under the doorframe into the dusty kitchen, where all sorts of pots and pans hung across the ceiling. Weaving in and out of their metallic maze, she found herself at the front door. It was a huge, tall, wide door?one that you had to really yank at to open. So after much tugging, moonlight finally seeped through to alight on her pleased face. It picked out the glinting hazel in her big, doe-like eyes.
?Ah, such a gorgeous night!? she cried aloud. However, no one heard but the stars.
Indeed, the garden appeared truly magical tonight. Everything was set with the silvery cloak of twilight, for it was still early evening yet. Tulips and marigolds, with their charming bulbs of prismatic colors, nodded in the soft breeze that issued through the flower patch. The giant weeping willow, its tendrils already caught together with pearly dew, bowed sadly at Felicity.
Daintily, she picked her way down the sandstone walk to the tiny bench by the gurgling fountain. The fountain and the bench both sat in the very middle of the garden in a circle of paved, honey-hued sandstone. As Felicity alighted on the bench and smoothed her crimped underwear, the marble fountain bubbled a hello.
?Yes?hello?fountain?? she whispered forlornly. Yet the fountain could only gush and murmur with its rippling waters.
Felicity stared into the sky, which shone bright with millions of stars. A fat moon smirked down at the earth, his crater-eyes wide and gaping.
At that peaceful, lonely moment, the last thing Felicity expected was to feel a cold hand touch her shoulder?.
?Goodness!? her hand flew to her breast. Her heart beat like a drum. ?Who?s there??
She had shot off the bench like a firecracker. Yet as she surveyed the silvery garden, all she saw were shadows and flowers.
?Who?s there?? she repeated, this time with a note of irritation in her shrill voice.
Her shoulder still felt bitterly cold, as if the hand had forever left its mark. Slowly, she reached up to place her fingers there.
?Felicity?is that not your name??
She leapt around like a startled cat. Drops of sweat dotted her brow. Her limbs were speckled in goose bumps. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end. All around, the rainbow flowers bobbed in the wind and the man in the moon leered from the inky heavens.
It began quite gradually. A magenta dust fluttered from the sky before her eyes. She vaguely felt her hand reach up to grasp it. Yet she could not. The drifty magenta powder slipped away. Darting closer, she strained her eyes to find it once more. The way it sparkled like polished tin captivated her. Never before had she seen something so beautiful.
?Wait!? she cried. ?Do not leave! I need you!?
But this was silly. This magical dust was surely inanimate. It did not live. It did not breathe. And yet she yearned for it like a lover would her sweetheart. Her heart tugged her forward. Her muddy hazel eyes glimmered with the dazed look of one lost in thought. Frantic thoughts scurried through her head like stumbling doves.
Felicity had never felt more awake. This was no ordinary night. This was her opportunity, her chance to seek companionship. Most prominent, for at least half of her twenty years, was her desire for a friend?just one loyal, friendly companion. And for some reason, she knew this peculiar rose dust would lead her to her wishes.
Not a moment was to be spared.
As it was, Felicity pursued the glossy rose dust out the garden gate into the cobble street. It was there that a rickety ebony cart was just rattling around the corner, and thereupon the coachman glimpsed a brown-haired young lady in her blue underwear?chasing something with outstretched arms and a crazed face.
Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate your liking it. But if there’s anything at all that I could improve on… don’t hesitate to say. =)
@ q?… ?? ? g?????
Yes! It takes place in a completely fictional place in the 1860’s.
Ms. Search and Destroy: Thank you! I will definitely revise some of the more overdone, “purple prose” sentences. You give wonderful advice. =)

Gary Jones asked:

You’re standing by the water cooler and you suddenly feel a fluttering sensation in your chest.  Or, you’re driving along to your next appointment and you feel a “kick” in your chest that makes you wonder if you’re having a heart attack.  You wonder to yourself if you should drive straight to a hospital.

You do the sensible thing and go to see your doctor.  He may run further tests.  You’re told that there’s nothing to worry about.  You’re just having benign palpitations.  But he doesn’t offer much additional information.

Benign heart palpitations can be the result of many factors.  Curiously enough, doctors, even cardiologists are often not as aware as they should be on causation and the possibilities for resolution.  Let’s explore some of the key points.

Many of us first start experiencing palpitations in college, cramming for that exam or term paper due the next day.  We sit at the desk with a pot of coffee, trying to ignore sleep as best we can.

If you’re the type that just has to get things done and they have to be done right NOW, you’re likely to have more run ins with palpitations.  And they will probably get worse. While doctors say they’re nothing to worry about and the evidence does suggest that there’s no imminent danger, any rhythmic anomalies of the heart which cause it to work harder under more stress can ultimately lead to weakening of the  heart.

Tony Blair while Prime Minister of Britain, apparently another type A, was suffering from palpitations so severe that he had to have a procedure done called ablation to normalize his heart’s rhythm.  Many who have gone for long periods without sleep, eventually become less able to sleep because the palpitations become so forceful, that they’ll awaken the afflicted individual from sleep on a regular basis.  Their palpitations go from  a slight fluttering in the chest to a forceful kick.

Also, known as PVCs, palpitations are a literal stopping of the heart for a split second.  Fortunately the body is able to kick start the beat again which is when you feel the hard beat.  If the lack of sleep continues, depression and weakness will set in making the sufferer a virtual basket case in search of some relief.

The good news is there are natural ways to hasten their demise.  Among them combinations of calcium and magnesium and other stronger natural substances that regulate the function of the heart like the amino acid taurine.

With better attention to diet, sleep patterns and nutrition, anyone suffering from heart palpitations can conquer them permanently and begin to live a fuller, healthier life.

Open Question: Why are signs of a heart murmur?
I was at the gym today and my heart seemed to act funny. I was not even doing anything and I had slight chest pains. All I had for breakfast that morning was eggs, bagel and juice. I recovered and felt better soon, but I am still concerned. What causes this? Do I have high blood pressure?

Open Question: Would re-taking Zinc with B6 as an adult be beneficial to mental clarity and health?
I was diagnosed with Zinc deficiency as a child, however, my disdain for pills drove me to throw away the tables I was given. Obvious mistake as 10 years later, my symptoms have accelatered and I am barely able to read two sentences without forgetting what I had just read. Right now I have to take Iron and B-12 vitamins just to be able to get out of bed. I eat healthy and do yoga, but I still can’t function 100%.
(I did go to see doctors, so far as to get a CT scan to make sure it wasn’t brain cancer and at 14 I was given a daily 500mg dosage of a presc. drug that was meant ONLY for adults beyond the growing phase who suffered from heart attacks, cardivascular problems and other serious diseases. Not to mention that the risk of side-effects was very high. Doctor later apologized for wrong diagnosis. Needless to say I was pissed.)
Some of the prevelent symptoms:
-Mental and Physical Lethargy
-Come and go Depression
-ADHD
-Memory problem with retaining and recalling info
-Severe concentration inability; at times can’t remember what I had just said
-Sleepiness despite good night’s rest
-Hair loss and Terrible Skin
-Emotional Instability and fluctuations
-Terrible PMS
-Mood Swings…

Open Question: First chapter to my book what do you think?
Chapter one: How it started
London 1865:
It was about ten o?clock, Mr. Duke Lawson was tucking his daughter, Amelia, into bed. He was talking to her about his memories of him playing the piano while she danced around in her favorite gown.
He had aspirations of her becoming a dancer, so that his memories of his late wife would carry on. As his little angel was falling asleep he leaned and whispered into his daughters ear:
?When I am in heaven child, an angle will come and protect you and show you the ways of the dance. I swear it.?
He sealed his promise with a kiss upon her forehead and went down stairs to have a cup of tea before bed..
He was pouring a cup of tea when all of a sudden his heart was struck with a pain so severe that he didn?t know what had happened. He went stumbling up the stairs to his daughters room and again another excruciating pain to his heart, he was at the top of the stairs and just about to enter his daughters room when another one had hit.
this time he didn?t get up, he just laid their, his energy had faded, he murmured one last time ? Amelia, I love you.?
And with that all the breath had left his body, and his body left lifeless on the ground.
The maid was the one who had found him. A scream of terror had awakened Amelia. She came out of her room to find her father laying lifeless on the ground, as she fell to her knees in despair, and asked the Lord why she was robbed of her fathers life.
i actually wrote it two diffrent ways, one is discribing the people. I did relize about the P.O.T.O (phantom of the opera) thing… thats why i am considering deleating it…..
and i am not done with it yet its just what i have so far.
