Open Question: Help, I am pregnant and my heart is driving me crazy.?
I have had palpatation for about the last year and have had 3 ekg’s and wore a 24 hr. halter monitor. Every thing is good by what the doctors say. Since finding out I was pregnant I have had to stop the medicine that allowed me not to feel these. Even though they are benign they drive me nuts. Anyway, my palse seems faster than normal and the palpatations are making me crazy. Anyone else had this before and is a faster palse normal during early pregnancy? I am about 10plus weeks along.

Open Question: Does a Heart Murmur….?
cause my heart to work harder, thus causing me to sweat easier and harder. My face gets really red like i’m ready to pass out but i don’t feel like passing out ( i don’t even realize that it gets blood red). This has always been something with me. It doesn’t bother me but it does have people watching me like coaches and referees kind of worried but it does not bother me. Honestly i cannot even tell when my face gets red. It also gets red when i watch tv or sit in class for no reason

Open Question: Did your newborn have a congenital heart defect?
My baby has a missing valve and the 2 he has are fused together. He’ll need surgery to separate the 2 and depending on how that goes he might need open heart surgery to replace them in the future.. Shouldn’t they have noticed in the ultrasounds? They didn’t hear the murmur until his 2 week checkup…just wanted to hear from someones who’s been through this feel free to share your stories…

Valentin
I know most naems are strange for guinea pigs but I like names like that. And soem are kind fo ugly, but they’re cute for piggies. If you get what I mean.

Open Question: Is this a real known disease? and if it is it curable?
I’m writing a story and i’m giving a disease but i don’t know if it’s real/known or not.
What happens to him is this, after he does a certain amount of exercise his heart rate goes up just like it’s supposed to. Eventually his brain, thinking it has enough blood & oxygen, tells his heart to slow down the pulse. Problem is when his brain tells his heart to slow down his brain doesn’t have enough oxygen, this causes him to pass out.

Open Question: What do you think I should do?
Right, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel died two months ago. I don’t know whether to get another or try a different breed. I’d love another Cavalier, but with my first one he had so many things wrong with him, he had a heart murmur, a cough, ear infections & epilepsy. This dog was my first dog ever & I don’t want it to look as I’m replacing him with the exact breed.
He was days away from his 7th birthday. So if I did get another one it might only last the same as him.
Plus wouldn’t it be hard not to compare them. Also anytime I see one I just break down. Do you think I should go with another breed?
Thanks.

Open Question: Question about birth control, which do you recommend?
I just had my baby a month ago and I am not trying to have another baby any time soon. So I have to call my Dr. Monday to make an appointment for birth control and I have never been on birth control and do not know what to get.
So Ive been thinking about Mirena but my OB was totally against it because he said some women have had complications with it. His nurse practitioner said Mirena is fine and only women who have had problems with their periods or uterus tend to have a hard time with it. So far Ive never had a problem so I will be considering it.
If any of you are on Mirena how is having this as your birth control going for you?
Now I have a heart murmur and according to my OB who is a perinatologist says I can safely take birth control because my heart murmur will not be affected. He has seen my history with my heart murmur so he gave me the ok.
Also any other suggestions for birth control are good, please inform me ladies :)

Open Question: You are fat because you eat too many carbohydrates?
I’m just reading too many posts asking the same thing, and I can’t keep typing the same stuff over and over. It’s all from people asking “how can I get a six pack” and “Why do I have love handles” or “How come I’m overweight.” The answer to losing weight is NOT 1) exercise more 2) simply eat fewer calories or 3) cut back on the fat.
1) Commonly known, if you can cut about 500 calories a day, you’ll drop about one pound a week. In order to “burn” 500 calories a day with exercise, a 200 Lbs man would have to run for 45 mins every single day, 7 days a week. That’s just not sustainable for most people. This of course only works if you’re not overeating by 600 calories a day - in which case you’d still be eating 100 calories too much (meaning you’d gain 1 Lbs every 5 weeks). You must change your diet, but not just by cutting calories…
2) Eating fewer calories almost never works, because people tend to eat fewer BAD calories, rather than swapping their crappy food for good food. Eating sugar and carbohydrates (yes, even those “healthy” whole grains) causes your body to produce more insulin to break down the sugar. To much sugar in the blood is toxic. So insulin will either pass the carbs as energy to your cells that need it, or it will store it as fat. Over time your body becomes accustomed to getting it’s energy from carbs, and will have a hard time getting it from stored fat because of the higher levels of insulin in your body (aka, your body doesn’t use any fat, it only stores it). This is what causes cravings. Your body needs to do something with that insulin, and one of insulin’s jobs is to manage sugar so it signals your body for MORE sugar! Also, you can eat a 1,200 calorie dessert because carbohydrates don’t stimulate the release of certain hormones that alert your brain that you’re full (Leptin is one). Only Fat and protein will. That’s why there’s always room for dessert.
3) Fat is absolutely necessary to good health. And I mean saturated fat. It DOES NOT cause problems with cholesterol unless you’re eating high carbohydrates. Your LDL will probably go up, but it will only be the “pattern A” LDL, which is the “good” stuff (light buoyant) as opposed to the “small dense” particles which cause inflammation, plaque buildup, heart disease. Check the Amer Heart Assoc website, they even agree that a diet greater than 60% carbs will lead to high Triglycerides (fat in your blood) which is a sign of future heart disease. It’s polyunsaturated vegetable fats that cause problems due to their uneven Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio. Amer diet foods have way to high an amount of O6 (that’s why some people take Omega 3 supplements daily). This causes all kinds of problems for your heart. It’s also why cultures that eat a lot of fish have relatively low instances of heart disease.
In short, cut your carbohydrates if you want to lose fat, and eat more fat and protein from clean animal sources (grass fed beef, game animals, fish, coconut) and only get them from vegetables and some fruit. Feel free to comment.

SJonesy asked:

For the past year or so I have had issues when I lay down with my heart fluttering and my chest tightening. I also get pains in my left underarm (not sure if its related). The fluttering normally last a minute or so and then I’m fine after. Every now and then it wakes me up and my arm and chest hurt pretty bad. I am 20 years old, 5′6″ and 128 lbs, and this has been going on for quite sometime, Ive been to two different doctors and neither seemed concerned (im assuming because im only 20). Has anyone experienced this or know anything about this. I wouldn’t pursue this unless I was concerned, and I am concerned and don’t believe the doctors when they say nothings wrong.

Open Question: Do you think this is a good poem?
i wrote this when i was in one of my depressed moods and no one has ever critiqued my poetry before. so tell me what you think. thanks :) wondering alone on the sideways path
i am always tempted to look back
always seeking but never finding
searching for that love that binds me
bleeding hearts along the way
mingle with the daisies that say
“he loves me, he loves me not”
this love disease the flowers have caught
along this path of those who care
i stumble unattended between the fair
black as night white as the moon
shining between the dimmed stars
the shadows loom all around my eyes
and the lost souls find the truth in lies
everything they beleived in is now forgot
new lessons of life and loss must be taught
along this path i have learned
trust no one for i might get burned
love is just a four letter word
rarely meant but often heard.
darkness being the absence of light
can only be seen on these lonely nights
there will come a time in my life
when i may leave behind all my strife
move on to a place where angels’ tears
can rain down and put out all my fears
loneliness and hate will be a thing of the past
once i reach the end of this path
but my life has only just begun
so much more troubles are to come
one day i may find
a place to leave my troubles behind
but until then ill close my eyes
and try to remember how to smile
bleeding from the blood and dying among evil things
i will stand and spread my angel wings
bravery is not merely a sin
but a strategy to find the light within
darknes evil and darkness without harm
all your armies will be disarmed
for when i spread my angels wings and fly
i promise not to say good-bye
my absence you will not see
my presence to you will never be
higher and higher i will soar
see the world like never before
when i return you will be reminded
the sights of me in your eyes will be blinded
for when i return to this world
new scenes in my eyes will be unfurled
no longer afraid to use my voice
loving or hating will be my choice
but until all this happens it seems to be
a dream i can’t forsee
not something that can be guaranteed
putting faith in the weak is never wise
for i lack the courage to close my eyes.
