Open Question: Heart Valve Problems? When to go to ER?
I’ve been having bad asthma symptoms that have gotten worse over the past 3 months. Pressure on my chest, tired, light headed, coughing constantly, trouble breathing. I’ve been on every treatment for asthma and it hasn’t done anything. I went back to the doctor Friday and I have a heart murmur. She referred me to get a 2-D echocardiogram. I can’t even schedule the appointment til the referral goes through (Thursday) and then it might take weeks to get the appointment. Just going up stairs to my bedroom I have to sit down because I feel faint and lose my breath. I’ve been sleeping 12-18 hours a day now and I can’t drive because I feel so light headed and I’m afraid I’ll faint.
What should I do? Does it sound like a heart problem? At what point should I go to the ER?
I’m going to call the referral hotline at 7 a.m. and see what they can do and if they can’t speed up the process I’m going to call my doctor and get a same day appointment today. I can’t drive or go to class or really do anything :/

Open Question: Health topic for an essay?
Okay, I’m in 9th grade, and I’m doing health and the essay directions say
“One of the health conditions below that interest you, and research it on the internet
Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Asthma, Obesity, Heart Disease, Choose Your Own.”
I’m guessing I can choose something that was not listed, so I was thinking about doing the essay on schizophrenia, because I’m practically obsessed with that disfunction in the brain on weather it’s really a disfunction or not, ya know.? But anyways, would that be a good health subject? Or is it not.? Help please (:
