Open Question: My Pet Chicken Help!?
I returned from my holiday Saturday to find my four month old begum chicken poorly.
Her left leg is not able to support her weight, causing her to fall over when she stands.
Her left eye was closed and she is unable to move her left wing. She is eating, drinking, pooping and does not appear to be in pain.
I called my friend who looks after chickens who said I should put her down because it sounds as if she has had a stroke also known as Marek’s Disease.
Well I don’t have the heart to kill her she is my pet but equally I don’t want her to suffer.
At present she is in a box in the house away from our second chicken she is warm I have added a hot water bottle also, she has food and water which i have added a little aspirin to help with any potently pain.
So now I don’t know what to do? Any advice, help?
These are the Symptoms for Mareks Disease:
Signs
Paralysis of legs, wings and neck.
Loss of weight.
Grey iris or irregular pupil.
Vision impairment.
Skin around feather follicles raised and roughened.
As far as I can see she is only presenting with one of the symptoms left sided weakness, I dont want to put her down if she has not got it. Thank You

Open Question: What can be done… 10 points?
Basically I live in a flat with my mum and my cat and the block of flats circle round this grassy patch in the middle. There are lots of kids here and one called george keeps shouting abusive things at us and hes only 8. we have already spoken to his mum and she doesnt do anything about it. I know it sounds crazy but he swears and us and causes trouble and tries to harm our cat. there is nothing we cal really do to him as he is a kid.. and his parents are useless. is there anything else we can do to stop all this… the council probably wont do anything either. my mum gets abuse just sitting on our patio and my cat is too scared to go out and he already has a heart murmur and I’m just trying to get on with my life but its stressing me out. please help
I know ellie we have tried that and he just keeps on and we have to say something if he is physically harming my cat… we cant ignore that….
George does not need love… hes babied enough by his mum… he is pure evil if we let him get near the cat he would probably try and hang it or something. maybe its the fact that his dad just came out of prision. whatever reason it is we shouldnt have to put up with it.

Open Question: What`s wrong with my lungs?
Alright, I`m a 15 year old girl and I feel as if I`m very healthy for my age. I play numerous sports for both recreational purposes and for my school. I eat the right foods, work out every night, I don`t drink or smoke but I have the hardest time when it comes to running. I`m not exaggerating when I say I couldn`t run a mile if I had to. I get winded really fast and I`m really curious as to why. About a month ago my doctor found out I had a heart murmur and she said it could be because of that but I honestly don`t think so. I just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas as to what was going on.

Resolved Question: How do i get my puppy to stop attacking other animals?
I have a three and a half month old female german shepard puppy named coda, a cat, and an older dog.
For some reason whenever I attempt to give either the cat or the older dog any attention she either ambushes them and physically makes them leave or weasles her way between me and the other animal to turn the attention onto her. She will also try to bite or chew or do something else annoying to me to try to get my attention. When she shows these behaviors I either tell her no or completely ignore her and attempt to continue petting the other animal (which she doesn’t make easy at all by continuing to pester me or the other animal) I play with her plenty and give her a lot of attention enough so that I am concerned I am emotionally neglecting my other pets. Am I doing the right thing? How can I stop this annoying behavior? Is she just jealous or is this a sign of something else?
Coda also has a tendency to try and jump on or play with my cat when she is clearly not interested. So much so that my cat spends most of her time in a seperate room. I have tried to let coda know that that behavior is not okay but she doesn’t seem to grasp it (or maybe she just doesn’t care). How can I stop this.
And lastly Coda likes to jump on my older dog (who has a heart arythmia) while we prepare to go outside (she will also do this when we are outside as well). How can I stop this behavior?
I know its a lot of questions but this dog is really beginning to get on my nerves. Please help?

Open Question: My male cat who was approximately 10 years old, current with all of his shots, had appropriate vet visits died?
My male 10 year old birman cat Blue died suddenly while he crawled up in the chair to sleep. He was current on his shots and had been taken to the vet yearly and as needed. He vomited quite frequently but according to his blood work and the vet there was nothing to worry about. He was diagnosed with a heart murmur. I am very upset and feel like my best friend was just taken suddenly out of my life without warning. Does anyone have any ideas of what could of happened to him?

Open Question: Heart Valve Problems? When to go to ER?
I’ve been having bad asthma symptoms that have gotten worse over the past 3 months. Pressure on my chest, tired, light headed, coughing constantly, trouble breathing. I’ve been on every treatment for asthma and it hasn’t done anything. I went back to the doctor Friday and I have a heart murmur. She referred me to get a 2-D echocardiogram. I can’t even schedule the appointment til the referral goes through (Thursday) and then it might take weeks to get the appointment. Just going up stairs to my bedroom I have to sit down because I feel faint and lose my breath. I’ve been sleeping 12-18 hours a day now and I can’t drive because I feel so light headed and I’m afraid I’ll faint.
What should I do? Does it sound like a heart problem? At what point should I go to the ER?
I’m going to call the referral hotline at 7 a.m. and see what they can do and if they can’t speed up the process I’m going to call my doctor and get a same day appointment today. I can’t drive or go to class or really do anything :/

Open Question: Health topic for an essay?
Okay, I’m in 9th grade, and I’m doing health and the essay directions say
“One of the health conditions below that interest you, and research it on the internet
Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Asthma, Obesity, Heart Disease, Choose Your Own.”
I’m guessing I can choose something that was not listed, so I was thinking about doing the essay on schizophrenia, because I’m practically obsessed with that disfunction in the brain on weather it’s really a disfunction or not, ya know.? But anyways, would that be a good health subject? Or is it not.? Help please (:
