Open Question: $300 for cat spay (in Ontario)?

I am getting my cat spayed next month and I asked for the price today and they told me $300 (give or take a few bucks). That seems very high to me, I am also having an ultrasound done on my cat’s heart murmur the day before the spay which will cost around 400. All together with tax I am looking at $796.00. I know the cost of the ultrasound is correct, I heard before that ultrasounds were expensive. I am wondering if the cost of the spay is too high? I usually hear 100-120 for a spay 300 seems like a lot. Does it make a difference (cost wise) because my cat has a heart murmur? I live in Ontario, so if anyone can tell me if they know if I am paying too much or what they paid please let me know.

Well, for starters you need to know a little about me so; I’m 14 and I am NOT overweight at ALL. Infact I’d like to gain some pounds!! I weigh abut 120 and my height is about 5′5. So anyway, sometimes I do have heart pain, it’s not THAT serious but it’s not mild either. I do have Anxiety, but I don’t think it caused heart pain. I have NO history of heart disease in my family. I do get heartburn occasionaly.. and my beats per minute resting is from 60-73.
So could anyone help me out with finding what’s up?
