Open Question: A question for fellow horror movie lovers?
Im from the basketball section and im no expert film critic but lately i have gone on a horror movie watching spree and i was hoping for some pointers on some good ones i have not seen.
Here is what i have seen….
The Hills have Eyes (the newer one) This was surprisingly good…one of the best ive seen and the suspense with the baby being involved was heart pounding. Heard the sequel was horrible though.
Paranormal Activity- Feels like an MTV reality show until the last 10 minutes….which are somewhat disturbing and enough to make you uneasy in a quiet house.
Rec 1 and 2- whats scary here is that it seems completely possible for a science experiement to cause a rabies like disease among humans.
The Fourth Kind- the “real footage” is very disturbing…..even if it isnt real at all.
The Devils Rejects-Nearly every character in this movie is disturbingly and criminally insane
Trick r Treat-entertaining throughout and a perfect Halloween movie….yet not really scary at all
The Blair Witch Project-this one gets a lot of negative reviews but i found the “footage” to have forever ruined how i feel about being in the woods at night. Still one of the scariest for me.
This is an odd pick for the most disturbing movie i have ever seen…..maybe its because its 100% real. It wont blow you away with special effects or a fantastic storyline. Matter of fact…there isnt a single second of graphic footage in it. But by the end of the movie the realization of the psychological damage that was done and the end result of that damage is truly horrific. Its a documentary called Grizzly Man….it bothered me so much im afraid to watch it again.
Any other suggestions?
I forgot to add the Descent 1 and 2…..the thought of being trapped in a dark cave where nobody would think to look is even scarier than the monsters in this movie!
