Open Question: Irregular Heartbeat?
Well last year around October of 2007 our school had Beaumont Hospital come in and check all the athletes. I play hockey at a elite level and after tests ECG they said i had a heart murmur they then proceeded to do a Echo cardiogram and said that I was fine and a lot of people are born with heart murmurs/irreg. heart beat.
Throughout all of this i did experience “shortness of breath” where I would try to yawn and couldn’t hopefully you all understand that haha. Now it’s still the same maybe lack of sleep? But usually whenever I sleep late and i’m just about to sleep i’ll feel a pain in my chest that last for like 10 seconds i’m guessing these are heart palpitations from what i’ve read.
Well today I went in for my physical and check up and my doctor said i have an irregular heartbeat (which i knew) and he’s known from before and I’m guessing he wants to check on it. So he told me to come back in a week to get an echardiogram i’m guessing he probably called it something else? Should I be concerned? Thanks a lot for the help!
Thanks, so even due to my shortness of breath and the palpitations its normal? and i can continue playing hockey? Thats what the Beaumont doctors said but that was almost a year ago. I guess i’ll find out for sure next friday.
Thanks a lot. I also told my doctor about hockey and he said to not over due it or your hear will start beating really really fast and boom.
I was like okkkkk haha so idk too much about that
Oh I just remembered my doctor wanted to take an Ultrasound next week.
