Open Question: Cat with heart failure….?
So we have a 13 year old cat we rescued 13 years ago. He’s always had health problems. Crystals in his urine. Numerous UTI’s, has always had to be on special food. For years he’s also had a heart murmur, but it’s never really affected him until now. A few weeks ago I noticed his breathing was labored. He was breathing really fast, but not making any noises like he was suffocating or anything. He was acting normal otherwise, so I decided to just watch him and see. Then today he was completely different. He just laid there and didn’t want to move. Wouldn’t eat, drink, use his litter box, nothing. So I took him to the vet and they said he has a large amount of fluid around his heart and is in heart failure. They gave him a shot of medicine to hopefully reduce the amount of fluid, but they told me they don’t know how long he has. This medicine could really help him or not at all. Anyone else gone through this? What was the outcome? Thanks.
