Open Question: How long can my dog live with a heart murmur?
I have a 6 month old pit bull. He’s kind of a rescue dog. I just took him to the vet for the first time (I recently got him from a friend) and they discovered a heart murmur. The vet told me it was a grade IV murmur. She recommended I take him to a cardiologist for more testing. I guess I’m just wondering how other dogs did with a murmur of this grade and how long they’ve lived. This puppy has already become a member of our family and I’m hoping he can live a long life.
