Open Question: Do I have a hole in my heart?
Note: I know what it is (ASD: Atrial Septic Defect) and that it’s a common birth defect. I also know this is called a heart murmur.
My mom thinks I have one because I have all the symptoms (fluid buildup in legs, short of breath, can’t do much exercise before feeling weak, and I MIGHT have fluid in my lungs, that one I don’t really know for sure) and in the past few months I’ve had random heart pains (not chest, my entire heart) for about 10 minutes. The pains have been more often, and today I noticed that my heart rate is very uneven and sometimes has an extra beat (this means I’m low in Potassium and I just took some so this may not have anything to do with it but I don’t know). Thing is, I can’t go to the doctor to get it checked until October and I’m really starting to get scared. So do you think I do?
