Open Question: Any opinions/criticism/anything from my poem “Too Late”?

I had to listen to it.
I ran to see what was happening,
but I was too late.
I wasn?t there to protect him.
Murmuring roars stalked their way through
the winding rooms of the jungle.
Stomping footsteps shook every tree,
as if an elephant was storming through.
There was a thump as his body was slung,
crash, bang! against a rock.
Cornered by the beast,
the vulnerable boy stood.
Screams of disapproval, and,
of disappointment,
Seeped through the soil?s skin.
The animal was angry; the boy was not going to win.
Heart racing, I could feel my pounding pulse
beneath my skin.
Eyes and ears wide open,
taking everything in.
Legs running, but where?
I did not know.
It was the sounds that lead me,
to the war I sought.
A tourist stopped me,
and warmed me in distress
but the boy was still trapped there.
The beast was not at rest.
Standing dead still,
the horror of what I saw.
The beast had pounced,
what I found was just remains.
I had to listen to it.
I ran to see what was happening,
But I was too late.
I wasn?t there to protect him.

Open Question: failure to control their disease can cause all of the following complications EXCEPT—?
A recurring emphasis throughout this quarter has been the importance of diet and exercise and its relationship to “lifestyle” diseases–diseases we can reduce our risks for by having a healthy diet and getting regular exercise. Type 2 diabetes is one such lifestyle disease that can have very serious consequences. Diabetes can alter a person’s metabolism, and can cause production of unwanted compounds, or change the functioning within cells and organs. Type 1, which isn’t a lifestyle disease has the same affects on the person. As a result, whether a person has Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, failure to control their disease can cause all of the following complications EXCEPT—
A) amputations
B) blurry vision or even blindness
C) renal disease and kidney failure
D) osteoporosis
E) increase in heart disease and heart attack
F) increased risk for Alzheimer’s Disease
