Open Question: Two cardiologists tell me two different things??? Only 16 years old?
Ok so im 16 years old. I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve, aortic stenosis, then at 10 aortic regurgiation developed and at 14 an enlarged aorta. Or at least that is what i was told.
My one cardiologist told me all of the above.
This is my report from him(its not all of it, i think i may be missing the bit about the leakage, but i ont have the report anymore because i had to send it with my camp forms)
Stenosis peak velocity: 3.4 m/s(PG46, MG 29 mmHG)
Ascending aorta- 32mm above 95th percentile
Sinuses valsava- 27mm
Stenosis- 29 mmHg
heart rate- 88
early systolic click at apex - no S3 or S4
grade 3/5 systolic murmur noted along left sternal border- radiation to right upper chest and sternal notch.
So thats from his report, but then recently i switched cardiologists and i had an appt with him today, he also did an echo but i didnt see the report(since it was done today) but he said i had almost no regurgitation, very little narrowing, didnt mention enlargment and said i had only minor deformation.
My old cardiologist made it seem worse so how bad is it really? am i fine? do i really need yearly echos and cardiologist appts?
So from what i do have here what do you think? what is your opinnion?
my next cardiologist appt is at the end of my senior year.
