Open Question: heart disease in teen athletes?
I’m a 17yr old african american female, I play soccer(first year) and I’m a hypochondria, I read things about teen athlets dying all of a sudden and I get so scared, when I had my physical done I expressed my concerns and she listened 2 my heart and evrything was fine, I wasant satisfied so I went 2 another doctor and he did a ekg and told me evrything was normal I went 2 a 3rd doctor and he did a ekg and chest xray and evrything was normal he said my heart was a normal size. My blood pressure os good my cholestrol is good i m 5-10lbs overweight. And heart disease dosent run in my family(that I know of) on both sides of my family most people live a long time my grandma lived until she was 105, and most of my other family die in there 80 and 90s. Sometimes when I get nervous my heart skips a beat I tld my doctor and he said he dosent think its anything I should worry about, what are my chances of ending up like those other athlete teens and dying of enlarged heart and heart disease? Should I c another doctor or is this my hypochondria? Plz help!
