Open Question: I have episodes of rapid heart beat and mild to moderate chest pain around my heart when I inhale?
I have had this “problem” from the time I was six-years old. I am now almost twenty-three. When I was a little girl I would say “my heart hurts” when it occurred b/c I had no other way to describe it. Now I realize it is probably more my lung, but it only ever hurts in the area where my heart is. I was born with a heart condition–VSD (a hole in my heart w/a murmur) and so at the time they did tests on my heart, and found nothing. A few years later when I was about eleven years old it was diagnosed as asthma. I have one other friend who experiences the same pains who was also diagnosed w/asthma. but when I speak to others, or even search asthma symptoms on the internet it is not listed as a symptom. Could I have been wrongly diagnosed? I am asking now b/c i am pregnant w/my 2nd child–and I have been have this “asthma attack” (pain while inhaling deeply) along with some rapid heart beat early on, for a number of hours. It seems to mostly have subsided now, though. so–is this asthma?
