Open Question: I recently had an cardiogram and I’m concerned about hpyertrophic heart disease. How can I read the results
In the past year I have had a stress test, 64 slice ct scan, holter moniter test, and now a second ech. My father died of heart disease at 56. One small hospital said a had mild heart thickness in the 15-17cm range. I just had another echo at a large hospital in Seoul. The Dr. said I had normal sized chambers with normal global LV systolic function(Ef=76%) and a normal LV filling pattern.CXR was wnl and ekg was nsr.As for thickness, it was noted as concentric remolding. He said this was normal and not indicative of a hypertrophic heart. No pericardial effusion was noted.M- mode/2D measurement: LVEDD was 50mm, LVESD was 29mm, LV mass was 207.g, LV mass index was 108.8 g/m2, relative wall T was .44, IVSd was 11mm, IVSs was 15mm, PWd was 11mm, PWs was 15 mm, LA volume :38.44 mm2, LA volume index: 20.1 mm3/m2. Doppler Measurement:MV(diastole):E 1.1m/se, A:.77 m/se, DT: 231 mse, TDI: E’ .09 m/se, A’.08 m/se, S’:.07 m/se, and E/E’: 12.2.I have high cholesterol. Is he right? Thanks
