Open Question: If a dogs has hips that pop and hesitates at stairs at 2 years old should I be concerned abt puppy?
My dog is aprox 2 years old and it was pointed out to me that when she sits her hips pop. She also hesitates when going down stairs. I discussed it with the vet and said if she is not bunny hopping when running not to bring her in and he would check at her next visit in 6 months…I am supplementing her with glucosamine, fish oil and co Q-10 (former heart murmur also).
I am just curious if this is very unusual for her being so young and if it is something that I may have to worry about in her puppy that I have who is 8 months old. I also have 3 friends that have her pups.
Also, could something like this be caused by abuse?
If it is something I need to worry about with the pups are they too young for glucosamine.
THank you!
I forgot to add that she was a pregnant stray I took in…I did not breed her..
They are thinking she is border collie/corgi and possibly some lab in there somewhere.
Oh not fat she is at a “perfect” weight as I weigh her monthly to keep her there since she had a grade II heart murmur but it was gone at her last check…
Wierd puppy that has had many issues in the time I have had her. But I love her
