Open Question: Is it time to let my dog go?
My dog is a 12 year old Chihuahua and has a heart murmur and is coughing a lot. He is being medicated for both problems and the medication worked for a little while, but he is coughing to the point where he can’t take more then ten steps before he starts hacking again. He’s still eating, he’s just tired all the time. What else can I do for him or is time that I let him go?

Open Question: Are There Any Medications That Lower Heart Rate But Not Blood Pressure?
Is there such a thing as medicine that lowers your heart rate but NOT your blood pressure? I’m asking because my resting heart rate is in the 130s, but my resting blood pressure is in the 70s/50s. My elevated heart rate is caused by Lyme disease and Bartonella. I’m an otherwise healthy 14-year-old female. I was taking Toprol to lower my heart rate, but I think it caused my blood pressure to get so low that I slept for very long periods of time. I’ve been taking 25mg of Toprol every other day for the last 10 days, but in the last week there were two times when I slept for very long periods of time. The first time I slept for 34 hours straight and the second time I slept for 24 hours straight. I normally only sleep for 14-17 hours a night, so this is very unusual for me. My mother was unable to get ahold of my doctor, so she spoke to my pharmacist, who says that this may have been caused my blood pressure being lowered by the Toprol.
So basically, I was just wondering if there are any medications that lower your heart rate but not your blood pressure. Thanks!
