Resolved Question: Feeling of a heart palpatation then I have to cough?
Sometimes I have the feeling of a heart palpatation (like my heart races then hurt a little bit) then after I have a sharp raspy cough. This puzzles me any help would be great.

Open Question: Echocardiogram for dogs - regular vet or cardiologist for this test?
My 16 yr. old dog has been diagnosed with mitral valve heart disease and the very beginning of congestive heart failure. We are trying to “fine” tune her medications, and they are working well. I was told that although we’ve done chest x-rays, an echocardiogram would be helpful. My vet can do this…but should I take my dog to a veterinary cardiologist for this, or is my regular vet capable of doing this test?
Also, does anyone know what this involves? She’s not great at lying still!
