Open Question: Can someone explain this logic-or lack thereof-to me please?
***This is all hypothetical, obviously I don’t own either of these dogs, nor would I breed mutts, or any animals with known health problems.***
So, lets say I have two dogs. Dog A. And Dog B.
Dog A is a poodle. She has a genetic heart defect, is as dumb as a doornail, and is prime for breeding.
Dog B is a Labrador with Hip Dysplasia, is also a complete idiot, and who knows what other health problems because it’s one of those awful sick purebred dogs. I’m breeding mutts after all, it’s not like I’m going to actually health test my dogs, amiright?
So, I breed the dogs. Two months and a few days later, the puppies are all born. They grow up.
The puppies end up very intelligent, despite both parents lacking anything that resemble brain cells. The puppies are also all free of health problems. No HD. No heart murmurs. They’re just the perfect dog.

Back to the real world now. How does that make sense to people? Because apparently it does, just ask anyone with Hybrid Vigor.
Did someone accidentally forget to turn their brains on?
Legit: So my cousin adopted this whippet mix from the shelter, and at the shelter she had been fed Science Diet. She also came with a bag.
She had the worst gas ever, so my cousin has switched her to a new food. Is that just typical of Science Diet? She also, when I drove with them to visit some other family, crapped more in the space of four hours than Teddy, who is about four times her size does in a whole day.
Living with dogs, yes the occasional gas is a fact of life, but this was bad. Really bad, and really frequent.

And what else do you think is in her? The sighthound is really obvious when she’s standing and running around. The topline, and everything. She is also quite the speed demon. The vet estimated her to be about a one and a half years old.
That’s the only picture I took of her. The expression was too good to pass up.
