Open Question: Can fear in a patient do to a devastating misdiagnosis cause a doctor to hear heart murmur with a stethoscope?
I have been been trying to conceive for 10 months, and am now 6 weeks pregnant, confirmed by 4 home pregnancy tests. The doctor’s office collected urine and did a pregnancy test. The doctor told me it was negative, and then within 2 minutes checked my heart with a stethoscope and told me I had a heart murmur.
It turns out the pregnancy test had not been performed, and the technician had wrote down a negative result without having performed the test. When I started to ask the doctor how I could miscarry with no bleeding, or how 4 hpt’s could be wrong she asked for the test to be redone and that is when they found out the test had never been done at all.
They then performed the test twice and both were immediately positive.
When the doctor was listening to my heart I could barely breath I was so scared, and when I found out the test hadn’t really been done I was close to tears.
I am going back to the doctor next week for an EKG, but is it likely that being terrified caused the heart murmur? Pregnancy can cause heart murmurs, but usually not in the first 6 weeks (so the doctor said), so she plans on checking my thyroid as well.
My heart always checked out fine before. I had an EKG 2 years ago when I had a bad chest cold and it was fine. Should I be worried?

Open Question: Marijuana and Birth Control Pill?
I have a little assignment Im working on for health class. Basically I have read that you cannot smoke when on the pill for it increase risks of heart diseases. But what if someone eats marijuana like baking it within another food, as I know people do. Is it still harmful to take the pill and eat the drug.
