Open Question: My cat recently died?

well basicly i do suffer from heart palpatations but i heard that thoose are very very common however i believe there are types of them however this has only happened once but i woke up to a 6 to 10 beat palpatation basicly all my palpations feel like my heart is over exspanding when beating also ive had few instances to where it was a sudden thud like a realy hard thud in the chest then back to normal these scare the hell out of me my mother has them and shes 48 and in amazing health so that calms my nerves , also i have problems other than the palpatations theses are anxitey attacks i already know it but , i used to drink alot

Open Question: Medical experts advice is needed. Is it important for a person to have an ICD if the ejection fraction is 45?
My dad is at the hospital, because he had an unexpected arythmia (Ventricular tachycardia). Doctors concluded that his heart is mildly weak with an ejection fraction of 45%. Everything else (angio, EKG,…) was very normal. He is not psychologically comfortable in taking the ICD. Option so his doctor told him to increase drug dosage. I want someone to tell me How important it is for a person with these kind of condition to get an ICD. Is he safe?
No he never worn a halter monitor. THe results came up after the treatment he got. at first his heart beat was 200, but he made it to the ER without calling an ambulance (we took him). I know its risky but now he is perfectly normal with no arterial blockage. CAT, ECHO, Lab results are perfect.
