Open Question: My goldfish has swim bladder disease and all remedies are no longer effective. What can I do?
I bought a small, VERY small goldfish who was in a small tank with 20 others and a bunch of dead fish. Physically he is the typical swim bladder candidate. After a week or so he developed signs of swim bladder disease so I tried the peas and salt water remedy. It was fantastic for a few weeks but now he has regressed and is worse than ever. He floats at the surface and can’t eat anything because he can’t move up or down. My worst fear is that I can’t do anything for him anymore and it breaks my heart to see him suffer and I’m unable to help him. Is there ANYTHING I can do now? If I have to euthanise him, how is this done? I have never had a sick fish therefore never had to go through this. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.
