Open Question: Puppy has a heart murmur?
I just got a shiba inu friday night. He is about 11 weeks old and we went to the vet oday, and he diagnosed him with a grade 2-3 heart murmur. I read somewhere that heart murmurs are more common in shiba puppies than in other breeds. It said that heart murmers in shibas usually go away if they are a low grade (3 is bordering into more serious though). The pet store i bought him from gives us 10 days to give him back if he has any problems. I LOVE MY SHIBA, but i cant afford to have a dog that will need ultrasounds and surgery. There is a one year uarantee if he were to die orbecome seriously sick on terms of a cogential defect (this being one). If i were to keep my shiba for a year, and then he became more sick, I’m afraid I will become too attatched to him and it would really break my heart to give him up. Any advice or past experience on this would be a great help.
