Open Question: Pulsing nerve in foot and leg pain. HELP! Lyme Disease?
OK, I started having pain in the back of my left thigh about 6 months ago, at first it was constant but now it’s only occasional. Doctor said it was sciatica. About 4 months ago I was bitten by a dog on my rear-end on the right side and then about 3 months ago I was bitten by a tick on the right hip. I suffered no infection from the dog bite and no stitches were needed, but I had a very itchy red rash from the tick bite that lasted about 3 weeks. Now I have what looks like ring worm on the back of my knee, pain in the inner thigh and a pulsing feeling in my right foot. I have also been suffering from pain in my wrists, I am thinking that I have some of the symptoms of lyme disease. I don’t believe the pulsing feeling is a clot because it isn’t at the same rate as my heart rate and even if I wrap my hands around my ankle and cut of the circulation to my foot there is no change in the sensation. It’s not painful but it is severely irritating. Lyme disease seems like a likely cause for the symptoms but I was checked at the ER and they said it was negative. I have no idea what method was used for the testing tho, and quite frankly I don’t think the doctor knew. I don’t have insurance and these medical bills are killing me so I need a good idea of what is wrong so I can try to go see the right doctor the first time. If it’s not lyme disease could it be some other type of tick born infection or maybe an infection from the dog bite that is now healed? The dog is owned by a family member and is completely healthy so no worry about rabies or anything. Can anyone help?
