Open Question: Help best friends reconcile?
I am 17 and a junior in high school. My girlfriend and cousin used to be best friends ( they are both girls and i am a guy). They played sports together, talked 24/7, considered each other sisters and part of the family. My cousin is one of my best friends if not my best friend and she was how my girlfriend and I met. My cousin had lied to my girlfriend about some big things because of circumstances that were unsafe for my cousin that she did not want to bring my girlfriend into. The truth later came out resulting in my girlfriends reputation being tarnished a bit. In the process, my cousin has gone through hell with being ostracized at school, and having my girlfriend be absolutely horrible to her. She now HATES my cousin and says that she never wants to even see her face again, let alone forgive or be sisters again. I hate to see my cousin going through so much pain and suffering because of what my girlfriend is doing and to add to her hurt, she has been diagnosed with a rare blood disease that causes her to constantly be in the hospital as well as she was involved in a serious car accident. In both of these instances, when I told my girlfriend hoping she would have a change of heart and forgive my cousin, she got very mean and told me that she would not care if my cousin died and that she would not attend the funeral. I am almost 100% sure that my girlfriend is so stubborn that she will never forgive or talk to her again but i hate to see my best friend like this. Any ideas on how I can get her to forgive more quickly? Thanks
