Open Question: Heart Disease and Swine Flu?
I have peripartum cardiomyopathy, basically cardiomyopathy brought on by pregnancy. I’m fully recovered with an ejection fraction of 55-60% and completely normal heart function, like it never happened. Just been advised NEVER to get pregnant again. I still take BP medicine though.
So I’m worried if I contract h1n1 I may not be able to fight it off due to my condition. Or would I be catogorized with the regular population since I’ve returned to normal health? I still suffer from PVC’s from time to time but that’s it.
I hear that if you have heart disease you are less likely to make it. Would that apply to me also?

Open Question: Question for military doctor?
I have a heart murmur which is a hole in my heart. it is at its most minor condition. do you think that this very minor condition will keep me from being in the service?
I have no limits to activities I work out do sports long runs 4 miles or so i can keep my heart rate at lower then 140 even during a mild sprint for long periods of time. half a mile is what i have so far tested and planning on a mile.
