Open Question: Right vs. Left Heart Cath?
A few weeks ago I failed my stress test. It was only a treadmill test with an EKG. Nothing else. So they sent me to have a heart cath done, but I found out afterward it was a left heart cath. Everything was clear.
I’m not in good shape at all, but I have started a walking plan and have worked up to about 2 miles. Sometimes I still get out of breath, especially with inclines. I can walk 2 miles on an even surface fine, but if I go up the stairs, like 15 steps, I’m out of breath. And once in awhile, I’ll have chest pains if I’m walking up an incline. It always feels like it is the right side of my heart and goes up towards my right collar bone. If I stop and rest, it goes away quickly.
I’m being treated for high blood pressure also, that is pretty stubborn and isn’t going down. I’m up to 1 fluid pill and 2 other pills.
Would the left heart cath show any problems with the right side of my heart? Or could it be microvascular disease? Should I set up an appointment with a cardiologist instead of just working through my family doctor? (I’m 48, by the way, and some heart disease does run on my mother’s side of the family)

Open Question: Is it true I couldn’t get into the army with mild asthma?
My asthma is mild, and “exercise-induced”, which emans it only occurs If I do intense running ro something. so if I take my inhaler before, I’m fine. It’s not like something I would constantly have to whip out. And if I have to run or whatever a good deal, I wouldn’t have an attack and endanger fellow soldiers, its just very uncomftorable. also have a very small heart murmur, but it doesn’t really have any symptoms. Would any of these things make me inelligible?
