Open Question: I’m 32 and was just diagnosed with congenital heart defect. What next?
I was admitted to hospital last week for recurrent chest pains. I ended up having an echocardiogram and a heart cath where they discovered that I was apparently born without a normal LAD artery (it didn’t show during the procedure) and an enlarged RCA, but my heart wasn’t damaged, so the blood supply is coming from somewhere. I’m going to have a CTA in a few weeks and then my cardiologist said we will discuss what needs to be done. My questions are: Am I looking at surgery? and Is this something my kids could have? I have a 5 year old with a heart murmur that hasn’t been looked into much.

Open Question: Should I keep asking for answers?
I cannot believe he treated me that way after 3 months of dating. I am aware of not calling after the first date if not interested but never have I experienced somebody not just picking up the phone altogether after telling you the day before how much you meant to them. Until now I do not have any answers. I know that he has a serious heart disease and some health issues. I had told him that they were not an issue , that I am a medical professional and that I deal with diseases all the time and I care. Why did he bail without giving any answers? Should I consider him a jerk and just move on? I still care and am caught by surprise.
