Open Question: What is this pain in my chest?

March 8th, 2010 | by admin | Voting Question: B12/Lipo shots? Do they work? Where can I get them?
I’m 17 years old, 5′4″ and 160 lbs. I’m on a diet/exercising regularly and my goal is 120-125 lbs, but I’m only losing 5-10 lbs/month and I would like to speed up the results if possible. I’ve seen advertisements at weight loss clinics that claim you can lose up to 20 lbs/month, but upon visiting a medical weight loss clinic, all they had to offer were reduced calorie diets and wanted me to buy their pre-made shakes/mealbars and meet regularly (way too expensive).
I’ve been hearing a lot about B12 and Lipo shots, but I’m skeptical. First of all, does anyone have experience taking these and keeping the weight off afterward? Did you take B12 shots or Lipo ones (or pills?), or both? How often? What kind of results did you see?
From the research I’ve found, a lot of people claim to be losing weight, but I’ve also found some scary side effects:
according to this website: http://www.phentermine.com/forum/my-experience-phentermine/74893-just-share-not-scare-lipo-shots-adenosine.html
“the lipo shots are adenosin monophosphate. And i am actually refusing them from my weight loss doc.
I have spoke to my pharma, my doc, and a chemist at my job and a few other whacky scientist at my job. And babynurse i was gonna post this in your other thread about your weight loss stall/gain.
Adenosine is give to cancer patients to spead up the rate of cell change to create new and healthy cells. But it also speeds up everything else (hence the weight loss).
Now here comes the bad part….
1. if injected the wrong way, to fast, or to much can cause heart arythmia (sp)
2. Speeding up organs natural production or disposal can cause organ damage, improprer function, or failure (hence the insta diareha after the fat)
3. Once you stop the shots, the generated cells will die off quicker as they were, premature in a way. Your organs will have difficulty getting back on track without the speed and may not function properly.
4. The “extra” weight is going to bounce right back when stopping or delaying your shots.”
anyone know about this/have experience with these side effects?
It seems like if this were really such a huge risk they wouldn’t have prescriptions where you can give yourself the injections, which, if it is safe, is what I am looking for (so as to avoid costly visits to the doctor).
If it is safe, I have a couple more questions: do doctors allow minors to get these shots? If yes, does anyone know a doctor in Oakland County, MI that prescribes/gives these at a reasonable cost?
Thanks!

Open Question: Why do companies like Becel margarine support heart health for women, but not men?
If you’re in Canada (maybe other countries too) and go to youtube.com, you might see an ad saying “help make women’s heart disease history”. I think this means the company, Becel, which makes margarine, donates money for health care research for women. But why do they discriminate against men? You could say it’s because women buy most of their margarine, but do women look at the ad and think “yay! All that money is helping to cure me” without thinking about their male relatives and friends?
Also why do you hear about breast cancer drives for women only, even though men sometimes die of the disease?
I thought heart disease was the #1 killer of everybody? And men are about twice as likely to die of a heart attack:

Don’t women shop for their husbands too? Do they care if hubby dies of a heart attack, or only themselves?
