Resolved Question: can anxiety weaken the heart?
I’ve had horrible anxiety for a long time which causes my heart some trouble, but it has become worse. the pain occurs without anxiety. It hurts to breathe 24/7 and my heart hurts to the point of tears. For four years, my doctor thought my anxiety that caused palpitations was heart burn, but my diet doesn’t really consist of heart burn food (vegan).
The pain has woken me up and it has made my panic attacks harder to work through.
My mother had a heart murmur, but I’m not sure she genetically passed it on.
Does anxiety weaken the heart over time?
