Open Question: How is my poem, poets?

November 15th, 2008 Open Question: How is my poem, poets?
?Dancing Souls?
The melodious rhythm emerges
from within the heart of the music.
It seeps through the jail cell of my soul
and unlocks this cage of metal bars.
I breathe under light
like the twilight stars,
engulfed by the night.
I feel myself escaping into the tune;
it carries me to a field of dandelions,
swaying in patches of forest-green.
My soul floats with dandelion seeds,
blithely in the misty breeze.
Through crystal rain droplets,
to the depths of the seas.
Violins hum their melancholy tunes,
cellos murmur their cryptic songs.
Little black notes brush my skin;
they touch, caress, kiss me.
The music comes closer, near.
Their voices set me free;
I feel no fear.
This world encloses me, swallows me
until I am one with the song.
I am a tiny black note
that dances above and below,
trapped in the melodious beat,
voices I heard long ago,
that have made me complete.
Individuals enfold me, lost in a trance,
blanketed by a sparkled haze
of whispering tales.
Our minds breathe,
awaken, and ignite;
we embrace our dancing souls.
Music is our light.
Any suggestions or things you would change? Rephrasings?

Open Question: 24 year old mom suffering from pain please read doctors nurses people with pain ?

November 14th, 2008 Open Question: 24 year old mom suffering from pain please read doctors nurses people with pain ?
Hi, I am having alot of issues……My lower back hurts really bad and ever since I gave birth to my daughter my tailbone has been hurting. I have been seeing a doctor about this but it is low income insurance since I cant afford good insurance. I only get to see her once a month. She says I have arthritis around my tailbone and I have a bulging disc after xrays and MRI.
I have alot of other things going on too…..I am constantly tired no matter how much sleep I get I am still tired and weak with no energy all day. When I used to be energetic. I also think I have some sort of insomnia. I stay up untill 2 am and I get up with my daughter at 10ish so that is enough sleep. I have headaches all day long. My wrist are terrible they feel like they are grinding. When I waited tables last year my wrist would just give out and I would drop trays. My right shoulder is soo sore and my neck is very stiff. My legs feel like they want to give out from under me sometimes when I am walking around or going up stairs. They also feel tinglly when I lay on my side. I have a very hard time getting asleep at night I can not get comfy at all. It is hard to reach an orgasm. My knees pop and my ankles. My hands are constanly cold. I et a ring in my ear sometimes lately. Sometimes I feel like I am losing my mind. I forget things very easy or what I was saying or forget to grab something important that I need like my purse or my credit card I have left the house with no shoes got in the car and thought dang it I am an idiot I need shoes. I dont feel depressed I love my husband and my daughter with all of my heart. I feel like if this issue goes unresolved that I will get depressed about it. I want to enjoy my life. This has all flared up since my baby was born but I have had minor issues in the past couple of years like my wrist my legs getting tired and weak and now they feel like they are going to give out on me. I get plenty of exersice, I was upto 198 pounds when I went in to delievery and am now down to 136 so that is great. I eat good and healthy and always have. The worst thing I do is smoke and drink diet coke and I am trying to stop drinking so much diet and more water. I am on chantix to quit smoking.
The meds that the doc gave me are not working for me they are motron 800s and ultram. She also gave me predizon for a 5 day treatment and I dont feel any differant. The motrons are starting to give me an upset stomache so I stopped taking them as prescribe which was 1 pill 3 x a day. I have ended up in ER 3 times now in the past 7 months for my back giving out. They give me vicodins and they seem to work wonders for me. My doctor told me that “they work to good and I cant get them here” then the last time I was in ER she prescribed me vicodin 750s so I don’t know what to do about her. I am continueing to see her because I want her to take me seriously about this because I have been suffering for a very long time and I am getting upset that she isnt trying to help me. I think that she is judging me on my appearance. I have many tattoos and I am only 24 years old. But I have never been a druggie I feel that she looks at me that way and don’t know how to get her to listen to me. Also I was wondering if anyone can tell me more about lymes disease? I was bitten by a tick about 9 years ago and had a ring where the bite was and didn’t do anything about it. My mom never took me to the doctors for anything always said I would be fine. So, could this be lyme that just flared up after I gave birth. I also had a spinal block/ epidural during birth and gave birth natrually.

Open Question: Any suggestions to what this could be?
So, I know there’s probably not many doctors on here..but I was wondering if anyone knew maybe what this could be. First of all, i’m a 24 yr old female. During the summer, what I was getting quite a bit would be heart palpitations (a sudden, skipped beat - which makes me feel like I have to cough to restart my heart) then followed by general fatigue, increased heart rate when doing very little activity, and just general uncomfortableness. When these symptoms are happening, my heart seems to be beating fine though- no skipping usually. It generally subsides after a few hours, or after I goto sleep. I went to the doctor for it and she didn’t really seemed concerned at all because of lack of chest pains. She listened to my heart and said no murmur, no arrythmia that she could hear.. she said it’s anxiety. Now granted, I do get anxiety attacks & I am an anxious person..but I dont think thats it. Now what I have noticed now is, now that it’s cooler outside and summer is gone.. I rarely get those episodes. And before summer.. I didn’t get them all that often either. Am I going crazy?? Can anyone help me out with this..

Open Question: Depression? I don’t know.?

November 14th, 2008 Open Question: Depression? I don’t know.?
I don’t know but there was this one time where I was on my bed just thinking and all of a sudden I have this weird feeling in my heart. And I think, what’s the point of life?
And I just started crying and I was thinking of killing myself right there.
It was kind of sad and I was just like “Why am I feeling this?”
And now a days, from that day, nothing’s going right.
Just one problem after another. I’m losing all my friends. I have no one to talk to without me sounding pathetic and wanting for attention.
I’m happy most of the time when I’m with my friends but once I’m in class or alone, I feel so pathetic and think of ways I can kill myself. I don’t know why I feel like this. I hate it.
I’m thinking it’s depression but my parents don’t have it and isn’t it supposed to be handed down from families?
And I just feel like I don’t relate to other people.
Oh and so many people make me mad and I have so many mental diseases I can’t even explain to myself. I feel like people are idiots and I just feel like I’ve changed since two years ago.
What is this?

Open Question: Cat. Is this treatable?
So I took my cat to the veterinarian today and apparently she has an over-active thyroid, along with a heart murmur. She is about 16 years old. I am actually going to take her to get the blood work done tomorrow. Does anybody know if any of these problems are treatable through medication. I know she is getting old and she is getting to that point but I just want to be able to know that she isn’t in any kind of pain.

Open Question: Does anyone else have a congenital bicuspid aorta valve?

November 12th, 2008 Open Question: ANIMAL MEDICAL EXPERIMENTATION??????????? pleasee helpp? [debate project] ?
We are AGAINST animal MEDICAL experimentation in our debate project
and would like to know some peoples’ opinions on quotes from an
article that is FOR animal medical experimentation.
what would you say to these:
1. “Some people also argue that animal research is no longer necessary
because modern technology can replace the use of animals…However,
many factors affecting both human and animal lives can only be studied
using research animals. The use of research animals has been and will
continue to be essential to finding the causes and cures for many
diseases.
2. Rats are valuable research subjects because their body systems are
similar to humans and other animals in many respects. The animals are
also susceptible to many of the diseases that affect humans…whenever
surgery is performed, anesthesia is used.
3. Research involving animals has helped identify the causes of high
blood pressure and develop more effective drugs to control the
problems. Other research has resulted in treatments for strokes and
heart attacks that save thousands of lives and reduce recovery time.
4. Dogs have been especially important to researchers who developed
open-heart surgery, pacemakers, and heart transplants. These
techniques have revolutionized the therapy for people who have severe
heart disease.
5. According to Dr. Joseph Murray, winner of the 1990 Nobel Prize for
Medicine, “There would not be a single person alive today as a result
of organ transplant or bone-marrow transplant without animal
experimentation.”
My partner and I really need some different perspectives against/for
these quotes and would like to know the many opinions on animal
medical experimentation. We are against it for this debate.
thanks in advance ;]

Open Question: Does anyone else have a congenital bicuspid aorta valve?
I was diagnosed with this at age 54 because of a heart murmur that was heard during a physical. I want to know what preventive care I should be taking. What have others with this condition been told by their doctors?

Open Question: can bad teeth cause heart murmurs?

November 11th, 2008 Open Question: Can a vet be too nice or sensitive?
My fiance is a vet and loves his work,he just seems too sensitive. He has his own ‘rules’ in his clinic, but the one that seems the strangest is that he refuses to euthanize any dog unless it either has a terminal disease,is severely injured or in constant pain (from arthritis). And when he does euthanize he never charges for it,and he even sends the owners a condolence card! He is also very distraught after having to put any pet down.Do you think he is too sensitive to be a vet?? Or is he just a very big hearted animal lover??

then theres gunna be another disease something having to do w/the lungs and theres not gunna be a cure for it either. then its gunna go away and them come back l8r then go away for good!

Open Question: Can I become a Naval Officer with heart murmur?

November 10th, 2008 Open Question: Can I become a Naval Officer with heart murmur?
I was born 3 months early, with early asthma, and a very very slight, functional heart murmur. The asthma disappeared at the age of 4 because my lungs were fully developed by then, but the heart murmur is still there. I do not take any medicine, and do not have to take antibiotics before surgery. I’ve ran miles and haven’t had any trouble with chest pain.
