Open Question: Help. Possible thyroid issue?
I went to the doctor two weeks ago for a physical and when he was checking my neck he said that it felt slightly swollen. So, he sent me down to a lab to get my blood tested for thyroid problems. We got the test results back rand they came back fine. Plus the doctor assured me that it was nothing to worry about and if it was, he wouldn’t have let me leave for a week and the beach and then a whole nother week at band camp.
So I get back from band camp and my mom tells me that I have to go to the hospital in a few days and get sonograms and ex-rays on my neck. I hate the doctor and I’m really scared. Both of my grandmother’s had goyders on their necks that didn’t ever need to be removed so is that a possibility that I could have one? If not,please tell me what could be wrong.
note: I’ve had issues with weight since I was younger, I’ve never had heart disease or diabetes but my thyroids could be why I lose so little weight. I’m so scared!

Resolved Question: Heart Murmurs… What exactly are they and are they herditary? Please answer!?
I’ve had a heart murmur since birth. I’m 16 and it’s never bothered me. My doctor in the past had told my mom that it’s nothing to worry about. I went to the doctor in Oct. 2008 and he sent me to get an EKG just to check on it and make sure everything was okay. The results showed everything was fine, and the murmur hasn’t gotten bigger or worse or anything, but it’s still there. But more than once, when i’ve gone to the dentist, i had to take like an antibiotic to make sure I wouldn’t get no infections..like when I had my braces put on and when I got them taken off. What does that mean? Is it just like a pre-caution? Also, I wanted to know since I plan on having kids [one day lol] are they heriditary? Like when I get pregnant, does my kid have more of a chance of having health issues and heart problems etc.. I know I worry a lot for a 16 year old, but whatever lol.
