Voting Question: radio frequency ablation for arythmia pre op?
i’m an 18 year old male in the uk, had 3 superventricular tachycardia (SVT) attacks so far this year with a heart rate normally maxing out at 180bpm, i’ve found this pretty life changing as its literally put me off doing most things. as all 3 times i have been into hospital for intravenous drugs to correct the problem and i never know when it will happen again.
what im interested in is, i’ve had an ecg already at one cardio appointment, and im now booked in for a 24hour holter monitor test next week, and then a few weeks later another ecg.
but i recieved a letter last week saying i would be considered for radio frequency ablation, i am aware of what this procedure entails etc, but i was wondering what other tests will have to be done etc? is the 24hour and the other ecg sort of a build up of my case then i can have the ablation done?
or am i going to suffer waiting for months, anyone ever been through the procedure and how long you waited for an ablation, i know this varies between patient and hospital waiting times etc but does anyone have a rough idea?
as i just want my life to begin again. and any information i’d be so grateful of.
